RICS Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors

RICS, the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, was founded in the UK in 1868 and received the Royal Charter in 1881. RICS members are known as chartered surveyors, and are framed with an acronym after their name – FRICS (for Fellow of RICS) or MRICS (for Member of RICS). Today, RICS is a global professional organization in the field of real estate.
The key roles of RICS are:

  • Protect customers and consumers through a strict code of ethics
  • Provide impartial advice, analysis and guidance
  • Regulate and promote the profession.
